Beginner and Intermediate Courses

Course Content

Beginner
The beginners course will include bike setup, gear selection, braking technique, body position for climbing and descending, small drop-offs and steps, cornering technique and line selection. The course aims are to make you a safer, more confident and skilled rider with the technique to enjoy the majority of UK trail centre routes and xc routes
 
Intermediate
This course covers all the beginner areas, but with steeper climbs and descents, bigger drop-offs, bermed corners, front wheel lifts and covers more technical terrain with longer climbs and descents

What you need to bring ...
 
A good quality, well serviced mountain bike with off-road tyres
Cycle helmet, gloves and bike specific glasses
Plenty of water, a Camelbak or similar is ideal
Shoes to suit your pedals !
2 spare inner tubes and a pump to suit
Waterproof jacket is essential and clothing to suit the season strongly recommended. Cycle shorts will make your day much more comfortable !
 
Off-road biking is a physical activity, so for novices, any riding you can do before the course will improve fitness and train cycling specific muscles.
2 rides a week running up to the course will make a huge difference to your enjoyment of the day
If you cannot get out on your bike, then spinning classes are ideal preparation
